Aloha from Hawaii - the birthplace of surfing! We’re on a suspected murder case, if you’ll believe it. Sherlock’s apparently solving it by wiping out on his surfboard (I’m proving a point regarding the victim’s injuries. Stop having fun and start taking notes)

JFC I’ve never hated painting water so much

But sherlock surfing is an idea I can entertain :)

As a Sherlockian and resident of Honolulu, I’m obligated to reblog this. (I doubt it would go quite this well for them, though. Those are not beginner waves.)

"It is always a joy to meet an American, Mr. Moulton, for I am one of those who believe that the folly of a monarch and the blundering of a minister in far-gone years will not prevent our children from being some day citizens of the same world-wide country under a flag which shall be a quartering of the Union Jack with the Stars and Stripes."

Sherlock Holmes, The Adventure of the Noble Bachelor

Sometimes I can’t help it and all the US vs. UK stuff in the Holmes fandom makes me laugh. Because, guys? Holmes totally shipped it.

Oh my…!!!!

Ok, this is probably just me being incredibly slow-witted, while everybody else has already realized it ages ago, but I’ve just noticed that that incredible geek of Mark Godtiss placed another sneaky canonical reference in The hounds of Baskerville!

Corporal Lyons, in fact, is a direct reference to Laura Lyons, daughter of Frankland and mistress of Stapleton in ACD’s The Hound of the Baskervilles!!!

Also, this is another case of gender-swapping in this episode (after Mortimer and Stapleton) - but this time from female to male!

How I love this show!

Indeed yes, they are tricksters.

And to think I’ve been calling him “Colonel Whatshisface” this whole time. Research fail.
